Building

Former Coach & Horses at 20 Cheap Street, Newbury — historic site at the south corner of Cheap Street and Market Street, adjacent to 19 Cheap Street. Closed Pubs: situated on Cheap Street (no number or open/close years). West Berkshire HER MWB20557 (19 Cheap Street / Empire Cafe): 19 Cheap Street was formerly adjacent to the Coach and Horses on its north side; the pub stood on a strip of land belonging to the St Bartholomew's Hospital charity; a measured plan of 1839–40 appears to show No 19 as well as the building at No 20, later demolished. Distinct from Cattle Market premises on Cheap Street (not a rename chain). Pin: OSM south corner Cheap Street / Market Street (address-based; building demolished).
