Undated

Identity guard: listed buildings at 16–17 Bartholomew Street (now including Parched at no.16) are NOT the Sugar Loaf. Phil Wood (comment on One Photograph A Day, 29 Aug 2017) corrects a blog/listing mis-attribution: the Sugar Loaf was closer to the church at No 11; the 16–17 archway led to the Milk Marketing Board depot / earlier Atlas Brewery. Do not merge this place with place-16-bartholomew-street-parched-independent-bar.

One Photograph A Day - Former Sugar Loaf Inn correction (Phil Wood)

Undated

Local recollection (Phil Wood): the Sugar Loaf was more a restaurant than a coaching inn and eventually became the Popular Restaurant. Undated successor name — do not invent a rename year or treat as a separate place.
